Céline's coming back soon

Céline's in Quito (Ecuador) right now. She came back there from her 3-4 weeks workcamp in the jungle, and will return to Lima tomorrow (Thursday). She tells me that everything went smoothly with her visa, so she has a more stable status than I have, now...

Second night out

From what we've seen yesterday (on our second night out), the Friday local people seem to have a totally different dancing behaviour than on Sunday. It seems like the Sunday is a one-to-one dancing night, while the Friday is more like an everybody-dance-together...

A little update

I realise it's been a while since I haven't posted. Céline is a bit upset about that (she's doing it all) and I think she's right about it. So I'll give you a little update on what's going on here in Lima while she's had a change of circumstances there...

Volcanoes and Earthquakes

Ecuador is full of volcanoes, there are 3 only around Quito. But, like Peru, Ecuador is also a seismic country, and earthquakes are not infrequent. We had proof of that at the camp yesterday, where we were shaken in our beds at about 11.50pm by a 5.9...

Top notch security guard fights against wandering cows

Yesterday, we had a funny situation on site. We have security guards over everything. God knows what their exact job is, most of them are sat watching DVDs all day. But part of their job is also to keep cows off the site! Cows eat the plantlets planted...

Helicopter ride

Monday was an exciting day: I was taken for a helicopter ride! It was my first ever helicopter flight and it was very nice. During the 20-25min it lasted, we flew around the surrounding jungle covered valleys and higher plateau areas, we passed a waterfall...

On how Peruvians dance

I've just received Abel's photos from Holmi and Juan Carlos' wedding, the one we attended in Arequipa, the one where we danced. Abel was a tad tipsy so he took loads of photos while Yannick and I were dancing this routine, trying hard to follow the steps...
