Volcanoes and Earthquakes

Ecuador is full of volcanoes, there are 3 only around Quito. But, like  Peru, Ecuador is also a seismic country, and earthquakes are not infrequent. We had proof of that at the camp yesterday, where we were shaken in our beds at about 11.50pm by a 5.9 earthquake 150km away (near Loja). Not as bad as the earthquake Yannick and I had experienced on August 15th in Lima but still strong enough to wake most people up on camp. More details here.

On a different note, I am most likely extending my stay in Ecuador as we are getting two holes to log, instead of one, whilst still having to carry out frequent packer tests. I should be back in Peru in mid-October latest.
